Holding of the 22nd Session of the Board of Directors of the Urban Agency of Tangier
On Wednesday 21 May 2025, the headquarters of the Wilaya of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region hosted the proceedings of the 22nd session of the Board of Directors of the Urban Agency of Tangier, chaired by the Secretary of State to the Minister of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy, in charge of Housing.
Taking part in this meeting were the Wali of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region, Governor of the Prefecture of Tangier-Assilah, the Governor of the Province of Fahs-Anjra, as well as the presidents of the local authorities and professional chambers, and the representatives of the relevant ministerial departments and external services.
The event amounted to far more than a mere presentation of the record of achievements of the Urban Agency of Tangier for the years 2023 and 2024, of its action plan for 2025 and towards the 2027 horizon, and of its draft budget for the current year. It also provided an opportunity to highlight the growing role of the institution within the institutional landscape, underscoring its constant efforts to improve its performance and strengthen its standing as a key player in territorial development.
This dynamic was clearly illustrated through the address of the Director of the Urban Agency of Tangier, who shared with the audience the main performance indicators recorded over the past two years, structuring them around several strategic axes. On the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the creation of the Urban Agency of Tangier, the Director also presented a review of the institution's most notable achievements over the period 1997-2024, particularly in the fields of urban planning and management, legal and land assistance, as well as administrative and financial management.
It is also important to emphasise that the 22nd session of the Board of Directors of the Urban Agency of Tangier was marked by the signing of an agreement between the Urban Agency of Tangier and the Regional Council of the Order of Architects of the Tangier zone. This agreement aims to strengthen and develop the existing ties of cooperation and exchange between the two parties. Thus, in a first phase, the agreement covers two main components, the first of which is the upstream and downstream processing of the opinions relating to applications for building and subdivision permits issued by the Urban Planning Commission. The second component concerns professional access to the urban planning documents and subdivision files available at both institutions.
The proceedings of this session concluded with the unanimous adoption of the moral and financial report for the years 2023-2024, as well as the action plan for the year 2025 and towards the 2027 horizon, in addition to the draft budget for the current financial year.
The session ended with the reading of the letter of allegiance addressed to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist and glorify him.
